About Byalee

Byalee is all about achieving your dream, whatever it may be.
Whether you want to breed a Grand Prix horse that will inspire you to achieve your goals, whether you want to learn to sit trot with more skill, whether you want to have a safe home for your horse where you can visit in comfort when time permits… perhaps you would love to own a horse and see it competed to its highest potential; perhaps you are a young rider with Olympic stars in your eyes or a horse-deprived devotee re-entering the world – Byalee is about making your dreams become realities.

Based in the world-famous Hunter Valley Vineyards, Byalee is just outside Cessnock at Nulkaba, 45 minutes from Newcastle and Newcastle airport, and 90 minutes from the Sydney end of the F3.

We are all about making it happen – and Byalee, owned and operated by Ann-Maree Cambridge (formerly Lourey) with the help of her husband Shane, is proof that it can. Ann-Maree's dream began with the desire to own one horse – and no money to buy it. Today Byalee boasts acres of beautiful pasture-improved land and hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of impeccably bred livestock.

Byalee is the home of Byalee Briar (imp) and Byalee Romance.

Byalee Briar is an imported warmblood stallion brought from his home country of Sweden via the United Kingdom by Ann-Maree, who together with business partner Heath Ryan was incredibly impressed with his sire, Bjorsells Briar 899, ridden by Jan Brink and the world's number one dressage stallion for more than 7 years of his hugely successful international career.

Byalee Romance is an exciting new stallion by Regardez Moi but with the added attraction of imported Lanthan lines. Romance is extremely talented and already scoring 60% in his embryonic advanced starts, whilst beginning grand prix training at home.

Byalee was formerly the home of Grand Prix stallion Richmeed Medallion (dec), imported by Heath Ryan and Ed Richards, is by supersire May Sherif, producer of at least five international Grand Prix horses, including Matador (Kyra Kirkland) and Andiamo (Sven Rothenberg). Medallion himself was a successful Grand Prix stallion, until his retirement from international competition the year before his death.

WHO ARE WE?

Ann-Maree is a Grand Prix rider and seasoned competitor at State, national and international level. She campagined the imported Danish stallion Richmeed Medallion for some six years, bringing him to Grand Prix level where he scored more than 66% and 63% on debut. She also campaigned the Richmeed Medallion/Salute son Byalee Magic to international Grand Prix level, achieving top 5 placings at CDI level in the big tour, and the State-qualified medium level mare Southern Charmed. Previously Ann-Maree was well-known on her Grand Prix horse Byalee Tomorrow and his younger brother Byalee Today, as well as the AWHA registered stallion Cool Cat.
